Adoption Counselling UK
Adoption can bring a deep mix of love, loss, identity and belonging, often all held at the same time. You may be an adopted adult trying to make sense of your story, a birth parent living with complex grief, or an adoptive parent wanting to better understand and support your child. In our work together, I offer a thoughtful, attuned space where your experiences can be explored at your pace, without judgement. I am particularly mindful of how early relationships, attachment patterns and unanswered questions can continue to shape how you feel about yourself and others.
Counselling can help you begin to put words to experiences that may have felt confusing or hard to hold alone. Together, we can explore feelings around rejection, identity, anger, loyalty, or not quite fitting, and make sense of how these show up in your relationships and day-to-day life. It can also support you in understanding patterns that repeat, building a stronger sense of self, and developing ways to feel more emotionally secure and grounded. Where there are gaps or unanswered questions in your story, we can gently approach these with curiosity and care, helping you to hold both what is known and unknown. Over time, this work can support a deeper sense of self-acceptance, connection, and emotional resilience.
